PURLS OF JOY SEMINAR APRIL 27 & 28, 2012 TRINITY CROSSING 112 6TH AVE N. PRINCETON, MN
The Upper Midwest Knitting Machine Dealers will be working very hard to put on another outstanding seminar for you. This will be our 28th year.
We will not be in a hotel, but the hotels in town are within a mile of Trinity Crossing. We hope you will be able to attend again this year.
Our classes are being taught by a group of skilled and innovative guest demonstrators and our own talented members.
Our guest demonstrators are: Morgan Hicks is the owner of All Points Yarn in Des Moines, WA where he offers a full-range of personalized classes and color/design workshops from beginning to advanced hand knitting and crochet, machine knitting, weaving, and needle felting. He applies his anthropology and engineering degrees to bring students and professionals alike student-centered education and training in textile color and design, fabric making techniques. Morgan has published over 50 articles and hundreds of original fabric designs in North American knitting periodicals.
Linda Jensen has received a BA in Home Economics from San Diego State University and then a Master of Science in Home Economics from Florida State University intending to be a college professor in the fiber arts, which she loves. She started her Arts And Crafts business in 1995 calling it Linda's Crafts. Now that she has retired from her Government career and working in earnest on a professional portfolio, developing a network of contacts to offer my services to teach and demonstrate machine knitting techniques. We will also have some of our very good talent in the Minnesota and surrounding states doing machine Knitting demonstrations also.
We have 5 - 1 hour classes on Friday and 5 - 45 minute classes on Saturday approximately 5 or 6 classes will be going on at one time. Four of the classes will be in private rooms.
Don't forget our "Style Show" on Friday night at the banquet. Those of you that participate in the Style Show will be entered into our drawing for a $50.00 gift Certificate. Everyone should wear something they have knit to the banquet, we just pick you out and have you tell us about the knitwear you've created!
We will have a drawing at our noon lunch on Saturday. The Grand Prize will be a "FREE" seminar package (excluding hotel) for 2013. Must be present to win and it will be non-transferable.
Contest
Every year we have a different theme for our contest. This year our theme is "Baby outfit" at least 2 pieces. Let's all knit a baby outfit so you will have a chance to win the contest. Remember you will be the judges! We will have a Gift Certificate for the first, second, and third place winners.
